FAQs

Can everyone have reflexology?

Reflexology is a treatment that can be adapted for all ages and stages of life. As it is an individualised treatment it can be adapted to work around many issues such as, localised skin infections, pain or mobility issues. However, you should not have reflexology if you have a current DVT, if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol or if you have a widespread infection on both feet.

If you are undergoing fertility treatment, are pregnant or are due a medical test within 48 hours please get in touch to discuss the best time to have reflexology, you can still be treated, we just need to discuss timings.

How much do you charge?

A standard reflexology treatment at my clinic costs £40 for a 50 minute treatment.

I offer shorter treatments which may be suited to those on a budget, children, older people or those who are acutely unwell. A 20 minute treatment is £20 and a 30 minute treatment is £28.

If you book and pay for 5 treatments the 6th is half price.

Gift vouchers are available.

Do you do home visits?

Only in exceptional circumstances. My clinic room is a peaceful and cosy space to allow you to relax and take time out from day to day life. Generally people find it less easy to relax at home where there may be interruptions. Making the time and effort to prioritise yourself is an important part of wellness.

However, I do visit settings where people may be unable to travel such as residential homes and hospitals.

If you would like reflexology but can’t get to the clinic please get in contact to discuss this.

Do I need to do anything before a treatment?

No. It can be useful to think about what you want from a treatment. It is also helpful to bring with you any information about medications or supplements you are currently taking.

There is no need to do your nails, natural, clean feet as they are is fine, this tells me a lot about your current health, so no pedicures necessary!
How often should I have reflexology?

There is no definitive answer to this question. You can have reflexology as little or as often as you like or need. This will depend on your time, budget, what you want from a treatment and how you respond to it. However, to get the most from a treatment it is recommended to attend weekly for 5 treatments, in order to allow the body to maintain it’s new found balance. You may then wish to move to maintenance treatments of fortnightly, monthly or 6 weeks apart. But really it is up to you.

What is reflexology?

Feet have been important in healing in many cultures historically. The first documented evidence of reflexology was in Egypt around 2500 BC. From then on there is evidence of reflexology across Asia, Central and Northern America and Europe.

Reflexology see’s the whole person reflected on the feet. Anatomically every body system can be found on the foot, these can then be worked in a variety of different ways to support the body to work at it’s optimum level.
In more recent years reflexology has moved from being seen as an alternative therapy to being used to compliment mainstream medicine. Reflexology is now being taught in universities and is being scientifically researched and found in a variety of settings from hospitals and schools to elite sports settings.
